A working group conducted a systematic review to provide evidence-based recommendations for the management of acne. The working group applied the grading of recommendations, assessment, development, and evaluation approach for assessing the certainty of evidence and formulating and grading recommendations. They presented evidence-based recommendations and good practice statements (Table 1).

Given the diversity of treatment options for acne, shared decision-making is important to individualize acne care based on the potential treatment benefits and risks, the severity, extent, and region of acne involvement, treatment costs, patient preferences, and other factors (Figure 1).
