Body mass index, Charlson Comorbidity Index linked to biologic response in psoriasis patients

A study in psoriasis patients starting their first biologic found that lower body mass index (BMI), fewer comorbidities, and family history of psoriasis predicted super-response, while higher BMI, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and more severe disease predicted biologic refractoriness. Super-responders had better treatment persistence, whereas refractory patients showed poorer persistence.
